So yesterday Taryn cleaned my teeth (oh, they feel sooooo good!) and Dr. McAllister did my 6 month exam. I’ve been having biting pain for quite some time so it was no shock that I needed 2 crowns. Just like you, my heart started beating just a little faster when I moved chairs to have my crowns started. I know in my head Dr. McAllister and Dr. Raja are both talented, gentle and compassionate provides, but man, something from my childhood is stuck in my subconscious and won’t let me go!
So as it goes, he got me nice and numb and then prepped the teeth. Kieron made me temporary crowns (and they are beautiful! No joke, they look like I didn’t have a thing done.) and then they sent me on my way. I’ll bet you’re thinking I was relieved to be finished after my initial reaction right? Wrong-o! I was a little disappointed that it didn’t take longer.. Mmmmhmmm you heard me right! I’m a mom of 2, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a volunteer, a woman in the workforce and on… Life is busy! for those two precious hours I wasn’t anything but a patient. I had my hands dipped in moisturizing paraffin wax then snuggled up with a blanket and a warm neck wrap; I had the massage chair going and the seat heater cranked up, then I put my earbuds in and tuned tuned to the Pandora station I wanted to listen to (no Taylor Swift or Kidz bop!)… It was pure bliss.
Yesterday was a real treat for me. Not just because I was able to be pampered and lazy for a bit, but I really got to see my team at work. They work so hard to provide a one-of-a-kind dental experience, and you know what? We do just that. Take it from me, a patient thrilled with the care that I receive at the Smile Design Centre.
